On Wednesday November 28, 2018 there will be another Public Awareness Test by Alert Ready.
The test will be conducted at 1:55 pm local time in all provinces (2:55 pm local time in Quebec). The test will be distributed on TV, radio and compatible wireless devices.
The last time a test was conducted, it did not perform consistently for all smartphone users.
Alert Ready advises that not all mobile devices will receive the test message.
Alert Ready is Canada’s emergency alerting system. Alert Ready delivers critical and potentially life-saving alerts to Canadians through television, radio and LTE-connected and compatible wireless devices.
The Alert Ready system was developed with several partners, including federal, provincial and territorial emergency management officials, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Pelmorex, the broadcasting industry and wireless service providers. Together, these partners work to ensure Canadians receive alerts immediately and know when to take action to stay safe.
