Employees in the food service industry often rely on tips from customers to help top up their minimum wage or low wage earnings.
The situation may indicate that the pressures to spend on self or others at Christmas time may drive some people to take actions without thinking.
Sooke RCMP Cpl. Chris Manseau says anyone with information related to the person or persons responsible for the theft is asked to call the detachment at 250-642-5241 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous.
