As the spring gardening season ramps up — especially with the warm weather we experienced in the Greater Victoria area earlier this week — workshops and how-to sessions are also coming out of the woodwork!
The GardenWorks store in Colwood is a go-to retail location for gardeners across the west shore region.
In addition to their Spring Fling sales and in-store specials March 22 to 24, GardenWorks Colwood is offering an information packed weekend to help folks getting rolling with spring gardening projects big and small.
All the gardening and gardening-related seminars are free, no registration required.
Saturday, March 23:
- 11am Seed Starting with Lauren
- 1pm Dahlias and Lilies with Lauren
- 3pm Potatoes & Onions with Lauren
Sunday, March 24:
- 11am Mason Bees with Georgia and Reilly
- 1pm Refresh your Tropicals with Georgia and Reilly
The GardenWorks Colwood store is located at 1859 Island Highway (Hwy 14) near Colwood Corners shopping mall.

- Sooke Seedy Saturday on Sat March 30 at Sooke Community Hall, in Sooke. Attendance by donation. Vendors and displays.
- Soil Quality workshop on Sat April 6 in Langford, 12 to 2 pm outdoors at PEXSISEN Elementary. Free to attend. RSVP here.
- New community garden being developed in Langford, within Porcher Park in the downtown area. More news on this first community garden in Langford will be posted on the Urban Food Resilience Initiatives Society website.
