There will be a temporary closure of the Church Rd/Throup intersection from Tuesday August 29 through Friday September 1, to allow for roadworks. Traffic will re-open with single lane alternating traffic for September 5 through 8 (7 am to 7 pm), to help with traffic congestion on Highway 14.
The temporary closure will be in effect 7 am to 7 pm on each of those days.
On-site crews will direct traffic. Expect delays.
Area neighbours will receive further information by letter from Hazelwood Construction.
Additional closures and traffic impacts are expected in the project’s duration. Substantial project completion is expected by late spring or early summer in 2024, says the District of Sooke.
“Patience is requested through the construction period as we progress community priorities for long-term traffic management in Sooke,” it was stated in a District of Sooke news release today.
