On Tuesday night June 24 at about 11:27 p.m., West Shore RCMP responded to a report of pick-up trucks driving erratically and burning out tires in the parking lot outside 3005 Merchant Way in the Belmont Market area of Langford.
West Shore RCMP Frontline and Traffic Unit officers attended the location and observed a grey Ford F350 and a Red Dodge Ram in the parking lot along with their respective drivers.

Both drivers were exhibiting symptoms of alcohol impairment and were investigated for impaired driving, says Cpl. Nancy Saggar, Media Relations Officer, West Shore RCMP.
- The driver of the Dodge Ram is identified as a 19-year old male and was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
- The driver of the Ford F350 is identified as a 19-year-old male and was issued a 3-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
Officers were able to locate these vehicles right away due to quick actions of the complaint reporting it to police as it was unfolding.

If you see dangerous driving behaviour and/or suspect impaired driving, please report it to police right away, said Cpl. Mike Jacobson who is in charge of the West Shore RCMP Traffic Unit.
