PUBLIC INFO SESSION AT SASEENOS ELEMENTARY HAS BEEN POSTPONED (from January 29, 2025 to a future date)
Some Highway 14 improvements are coming at Idlemore Road across from Saseenos Elementary School (a school within the Sooke School District SD62).
A school fronting directly onto a major provincial highway has been a safety challenge for many years. Complaints have been made by parents, local municipal council, and more recently the new MLA.
Some attention has been paid to providing attendants at crosswalks in SD62.

The improvements are expected to “increase safety and ease the flow of traffic for drivers, pedestrians and people cycling or rolling in the area”.
The project will also provide better access to Saseenos Elementary School and support economic development opportunities for T’Sou-ke First Nation.

The Ministry of Transportation and Transit acknowledges that the project is located on the traditional territory of the T’Sou-ke First Nation and Scia’new First Nation.
