The Greater Victoria Green Team was active on Langford streets on Saturday November 4.
The weather was cool with quick periods of light rain.
“What a successful day! Thank you to the 34 amazing community members who joined us today to remove 105.5 lbs of litter from Langford streets, waterways, and ecosystems! Thank you so much to our partner, the City of Langford for their financial support and direction.”
The action group gathered for 9:45 am on Saturday morning at Station Avenue to hand out gear, and then the team fanned out with volunteers to clean up litter right through to 1 pm.
Gotta wonder why people still litter, but it’s great to see volunteers wanting to keep the streets clean!
About Green Team:
This was the first Green Team cleanup in Langford.
The group has done cleanups in neighbouring Colwood on several occasions.
Their next clean event is at Portage Park in View Royal on November 7.
Greater Victoria Green Team undertakes environmental stewardship for healthy communities. They claim to be the largest environmental volunteer program in the region.
