The District of Metchosin will honour their long-time former Fire Chief Stephanie Dunlop at a Sunday afternoon event in the Metchosin Fire Hall.
The gathering is scheduled for Sunday March 15. Everyone is welcome at the event that runs 1 to 3 pm.

The event will be hosted by Metchosin Mayor Marie-Térèse Little and Metchosin Councillor Jay Shukin who has organized the event.

Background:
Stephanie Dunlop served as the fire chief for the small rural community for nearly 20 years.
On February 23, 2026 Dunlop started as the Deputy Fire Chief at the Central Saanich Fire Department which she says is an upward career move.
Dunlop will now living in Central Saanich so as to be fully embedded in the community she will serve, she told Island Social Trends back in January.
