The West Shore RCMP Drug and Organized Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a Langford home on Atticus Court in Langford just ahead of the Thanksgiving long weekend, on October 8.

This news was released today by the West Shore RCMP.

The bust came as a result of a two-month long investigation into drug trafficking within the Greater Victoria area, says Cst Alex Bérubé, media relations officer, West Shore RCMP.

Officers obtained judicial authorization to search the home and an associated vehicle.

RCMP states that with the assistance of the BC Highway Patrol Police Dog Service, that officers searched and seized the following: one ounce of suspected cocaine, half an ounce of suspected crack cocacine, a handgun, a shotgun, over $4,000 in Canadian currency, and a Range Rover vehicle.

As a result, police arrested a 29-year-old Langford man. Criminal charges are being recommended. The Range Rover and cash were sent to the Civil Forteiture Office, says Cpl Ryan Walsh of the Drug and Organized Crime Unit.

Anyone with information around this is asked to contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
