A main thoroughfare through Colwood will be reduced to single lane traffic for two days, Friday August 28 and Saturday August 29.
Sooke Road (Highway 14) — which is called Island Highway in that stretch — will undergo paving from Wale Road over to Metchosin Road from 9 am to 3 pm on Friday and 7 am to 7 pm on Saturday.
The City of Colwood says to expect one-lane traffic in both directions at all times.
There will be traffic delays. Traffic control personnel will be on site. Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians should use caution and follow instructions.
That route goes through the main commercial sector of Colwood, past Colwood Corners and Royal Roads University. However, it is the weekend in summer, so delays will probably not be too impactful to motorists.
The City apologizes for any inconvenience.
