Monday, October 8 ~ SIDNEY.

BC Ferries each year reports the Thanksgiving long weekend as its busiest sailing period, with Thanksgiving Monday being the busiest of the Thursday-to-Monday travel period, especially for passengers returning from Vancouver Island (via Swartz Bay) to the mainland (at Tsawwassen).

Indeed, as a large load of foot passengers headed for the vessel for the 5 pm sailing, the foot passengers heading into the Swartz Bay terminal were single file.  See photo.

Ahead of 5 pm there was a two-sailing wait for vehicle traffic. For this holiday Monday, sailings on the main Victoria-Vancouver (Swartz Bay – Tsawwassen) route were every hour on-the hour up to 10 pm this evening.
