Premier David Eby’s new BC NDP cabinet will be sworn-in on Monday November 18 at Government House.
The organizational process is being co-chaired by Doug White, Premier’s special counsel on Indigenous reconciliation together with Shannon Salter, the Premier’s deputy minister and head of the public service.
“It’s more important than ever that we get down to work together to help people with costs, improve healthcare and build strong communities in a strong economy. Together, we can make BC a place where everyone can build a good life,” said Premier Eby in social media today.
Election aftermath:
The 2024 BC Election was held on October 19. With a slim majority of 47 seats in 43rd BC Parliament, Eby has some tough choices to make in terms of filling top cabinet posts like finance, health, and education.
There are fewer experienced MLAs and former cabinet ministers to choose from, as many of those BC NDP MLAs either did not seek re-election or loss their bid for re-election.
Island Social Trends offered editorial commentary on cabinet possibilities, in an article on October 28.
