West Shore RCMP have reported that on Wednesday October 23 they received report of a break and enter and sexual assault that had taken place at a residence near the intersection of Sooke Road and Metchosin Road in Colwood.

“This investigation is in its very early stages,” says Cst Nancy Saggar, Media Relations Officer, West Shore RCMP.

“The victim of the crime was an adult female who was assaulted by an unknown male suspect. At this time police do not have a suspect description to share with the public. The West Shore RCMP Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation. A team of investigators canvassed the neighbourhood yesterday along with the Police Dog Service,” it was stated in an RCMP news release today.

Officers might still be in the area today to continue the investigation, said Saggar.

“The suspect is unknown to police and when we have more information to share with the public we will be sure to provide an update. We want to remind everyone to take the regular safety precautions of locking your doors regardless of whether you are home or not and report any suspicious activity immediately, said Cst Saggar.
