Apparently there haven’t been any particular incidents over rollout of new BC proof of vaccination card at Westshore Town Centre in Langford.

But today on Twitter and Instagram the popular shopping mall posted a general reminder to encourage patrons to show kindness and patience.

By Public Health Officer order, proof of vaccination is now required to access some events, services and businesses. Starting September 13, you must have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. You can show your paper proof of vaccination up to September 26. By October 24, you must be fully vaccinated.

“As we all navigate the roll out of the new Proof of Vaccine Card program together, this was just a general reminder to encourage our patrons to show kindness and patience,” said Rebecca Catley, Vice President, Corporate Communications, QuadReal Property Group, in a statement today to Island Social Trends.

That includes people who shop at stores, dine in restaurants, and go to the Cineplex movie theatre.

Frontline staff at all those types of outlets and venues will be learning to ask for the Proof of Vaccination card (digital or print) and a person’s ID to go with it, before allowing a person to enter the premises.
