Police are investigating after door locks of the Island Health COVID immunization clinic at Westshore Town Centre were glued shut.
Last week, on Wednesday September 29, staff at the clinic located within the mall at 174-2945 Jacklin Rd contacted the West Shore RCMP after a man allegedly glued the door locks of the business, rendering them inoperable and therefore making entry impossible.
The clinic was closed at the time of the incident. The glue was found after closing hours, and the clinic was able to reopen for its next operational day for posted hours.
Investigators were able to recently obtain video surveillance and are looking to identify the suspect who is described as:
- Caucasian man in his 50’s,
- 5’8 tall
- Medium build
- Mustache
- Beige tilly hat
- Glasses
- Blue plaid shirt and blue jeans
- Black/white shoes
- Also wearing a black poncho (yellow on this inside)
“While we understand that not everyone share the same beliefs during this pandemic, this act of mischief is a criminal offence and will be treated as such,” says Cst. Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the West Shore RCMP.
Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264. RCMP File #: 2021-18373
