Friday, October 5 ~ LANGFORD. Reunion Avenue has arrived, and the naming of Kelly Road will be extended.

As of October 1, the now heavily-used Division Avenue through the Belmont Residences/Market development has undergone a name change. The municipal road that connects Jacklin and Jenkins through the new residential/commercial development is now called Reunion Avenue (formerly Division Avenue).

The name change from Division to Reunion has a nice ring to it. The change became a team decision amongst the City of Langford, Belmont Market (Crombie REIT) and Belmont Residences developer Ledcor Properties. But it was driven by responses to Belmont Residences by potential buyers and visitors to the sales centre.

“The team at Belmont Residences is very happy with the change from Division to Reunion,” says Marcela Corzo, Director of Development, Ledcor Properties. “The renaming fits perfectly with this master-planned community as it relates to the overall philosophy of trail-meets-home-meets-market. Reunion Avenue is all about building community,” says Corzo.

Also based on input from Belmont Residences, the stretch of Jenkins Avenue between Veterans Memorial Parkway and Jacklin Road will soon become Kelly Road. This is to avoid confusion for newcomers to the area, and will see Kelly Road stretch right from Sooke Road (in Colwood) right up to Jacklin Road (in Langford).

The Jenkins Avenue street name will remain unchanged beyond Jacklin Road in the Glen Lake/Westhills area.
