Beachlands Boulevard and Beachlands Park will be closed to vehicle access today July 25 and tomorrow to accommodate the Eats and Beats open beach party that Colwood hosts each year.

The 10th Annual Eats and Beats Beach Party will be held on Saturday July 26 from 1 to 7 pm. The event attracts people from all across the Greater Victoria area.

The location is 3483 Metchosin Road at the corner of Latoria Road. The Beachlands housing development is underway at that location.

As construction of homes and infrastructure is underway, the walking-distance parking on site near the oceanfront is unavailable this year. Eats and Beats party-goers will need to take shuttle buses.

The oceanfront is a key feature that will be attracting new residents to the new Beachlands community.

Driver caution:

Drivers in the area are asked to slow down and take extra precautions, as there will be a lot of pedestrians in the Royal Bay area to attend the Eats & Beats event.
