The 2025 summer meeting of Canada’s Premiers will be held July 21 to 23 at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario.
The Council of the Federation (COF) comprises all 13 provincial and territorial premiers.
For the past year the COF Chair has been Ontario Premier Doug Ford; he will chair the July 2025 meeting.
Quite likely the agenda will in many respects deal with the impact of US-imposed tariffs and the broader challenge of strengthening Canada’s economy including diversifying Canadian trade.
As discussed by the premiers with the prime minister in Saskatoon on June 2, large infrastructure projects are needed to boost economic strength and workforce productivity in this country.
The premiers are likely to continue discussing which projects might be “in Canada’s interest” which was a key requirement for getting federal funding support for large infrastructure projects.
G7 comes next:
The G7 meeting of world leaders in Alberta comes up June 15 to 17.
