There was a power outage for about three hours on Thursday December 19 that affected 2,030 BC Hydro customers in the Metchosin and Sooke areas east of Gillespie Road, north of Battery Road and west of Metchosin Road.

That was due to trees down across wires in a relatively sudden wind storm accompanied by a lot of rain. The outage was from 3:39 pm to 6:30 pm.

A handful of customers (nine) were without power in the 2600-block of Jodrell Court and Wentwich Road area of Langford, for about 90 minutes this afternoon.

There was a brief wind warning issued by Environment Canada for the Greater Victoria area this afternoon at 2:52 pm, for the afternoon and into early evening, with winds up to 90 km/hour. Winds subsided by mid-evening.
