A speed enforcement campaign focussed on areas of the District of Highalnds was done by West Shore RCMP in the last two weeks.
That was in response to West Shore RCMP having received several reports in April 2019 about speeding motorists through the rural area of Highlands.
In the last two weeks the speed enforcement campaign has resulted in the following:
• 18 Violation Tickets issued for Speeding, Disobeying Stop Signs and other moving violations;
• 29 Written warnings for various infractions and vehicle deficiencies;
• 1 ticket ($230) for Cannabis in a vehicle;
• 1 Defective vehicle sent for inspection;
• 7 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition issued along with a vehicle impoundment
“Similar campaigns will continue in the Highlands and other areas throughout the West Shore. These campaigns are part of our strategic plan to make our roadways safer for all”, said Cpl. Heinz Krauss, supervisor in charge of the West Shore RCMP Traffic Unit.
