The annual Sooke Seedy Saturday is coming up Saturday February 28 at Sooke Community Hall, 2037 Shields Rd.

It’s open to the public from 10 am to 3 pm. Donations welcome.

Food-growing enthusiasts eagerly await this annual event.

Numerous vendors including seed and plant suppliers will have booths with information and items for sale.

Registration for vendors and volunteers can be done online.

Sooke Region Food CHI:

Sooke Seedy Saturday is organized by Sooke Region Food CHI, an organization that for many years has promoted local food sustainability in the rural Sooke region.

Sooke Food CHI has also recently awarded the 2025 Sooke Region Food CHI Farmer Bursary to Amber Rowse-Robinson of Brass Bell Farm. The Farmer Bursary will directly support the completion of Brass Bell Farm’s dairy facility.

Each summer Sooke Food CHI organizes a fall harvest event, sometimes called Apple Fest.
