The Sooke Night Market on the grounds of the Sooke Region Museum has been bustling with vendors and visitors all summer.

Since opening June 3, on Thursday nights they’ve been a hot spot for locals and people in the region to get out and enjoy the fresh evening air while poking around the booths for things to buy, and enjoying the food truck offerings. There’s plenty of chatter and live music.

For several years now, the Sooke Night Market has been a go-to event in the region.

During COVID last year the number of vendors went down (with food trucks being the strongest taker for vendor spots), but this year there ‘seemed no fear’ and barely a mask was seen on people’s faces in July and August as they enjoyed the Step 3 freedoms with in the BC Restart Plan.

Now that mask-wearing has been mandated for all indoor public spaces again (with the Delta variant spreading), people may want to wear masks at the market, even though it’s outdoors.

Stuff you can buy there: crafts, clothing, artwork, local produce, jewelry, food.

The last night of the 2021 season is tomorrow night, Thursday September 2, open 5 to 8 pm.

The Sooke Night Market is held on the grounds of the Sooke Region Museum at the corner of Sooke Road (Highway 14) and Phillips Road. Plenty of parking (in a parking lot across the street, and at the adjacent SEAPARC Leisure Complex).
