The Sooke School District (SD62) is hiring some additional support staff in this 2020-2021 academic year during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The posted positions include bus drivers, crossing guards, custodial on-call, education assistants on-call (temporary), and noon-hour supervision assistants on-call.

Funds for these positions (as well as teachers being hired) are coming in whole or in part from the influx of federal funds toward COVID-19 health and safety protocols in schools. Each school district in BC received a portion of the $242 million grant based on student population numbers.
