The long-time branch of Scotiabank at Nelson Square at 100 Aldersmith Place (just off Admirals Road in View Royal) will be relocating to the Uptown Shopping Centre at 103-3521 Blanshard Street in Saanich.

The relocation will take place next year, effective Thursday October 22, 2026 at 11 am. Federal regulations require four months notice.

Banking customers with accounts at the Nelson Square branch have received a letter by postal mail dated October 16, 2025, advising of the branch relocation that takes place a year from now.

The letter arrived with a pamphlet enclosed: Manage your money effortlessly with digital banking.

The planned closure of the Aldersmith Place branch is due to a significant shift of banking to being done online and with mobile apps. Also, the Aldersmith branch is somewhat off the main traffic areas of the west shore, tucked away in a mall.
