Royal Roads University (RRU) has three key budget priorities for their operations in the upcoming academic year 2026-2027.

As stated by RRU President Philip Steenkamp last week, the university’s priorities are:
- Academic programming that continues to reflect the current labour market
- Learning, Teaching and Research
- Continued implementation of integrated and interoperable digital platforms
There was no increase to post-secondary funding in the provincial BC Budget 2026 that was released on February 17.

Funding sources:
Tuition and provincial grants form the largest sources of institutional funding; various additional sources include research grants, ancillary revenue and fundraising.
Tuition:
Tuition rates vary depending on the program of study, including international student tuition rates.
Undergraduate tuition ranges by program and differs for domestic/international student category (see Tuition information for both domestic and international programs ).

For example, a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (3rd year entry) tuition is $20,260 domestic / $50,112 international.
Three campuses:
RRU has two campuses in the west shore area of south Vancouver Island: the main Hatley Castle campus in Colwood (attracting many international students) and the new John Horgan campus in downtown Langford (aiming to attract local graduates out of the regional K-12 education system primarily Sooke School District 62 / SD62).

RRU also has a campus in United Arab Emeriates with a focus on industry connections in a global network.
