Remembrance Day 2024 activities in the South Vancouver Island area: 

  • Victoria – The Province’s official Remembrance Day Ceremony, organized by the Victoria Remembrance Day Committee Poppy Fund, will be held on Saturday, November 11 at 10:30 am at the Victoria Cenotaph at the BC Legislature on Belleville St. | Live Remembrance Day coverage on CHEK TV online.
  • Langford – 10:40 am at the cenotaph in Veterans Memorial Park, followed by reception at Langford Legion on Station Rd.
  • Saanich – At the cenotaph at Saanich Municipal Hall, 770 Vernon Ave. Military parade begins at 10:45 am; 11 am flag lowering, two minutes of silence and laying of wreaths. Parking available at municipal hall but use of public transit is encouraged. No on-site washrooms. Dress for the weather.
  • Sooke – at the cenotaph alongside the Sooke Legion on Eustace Rd, 10:30 am
  • Brentwood Bay – HEL,HILEȻ Park in Brentwood Bay, 1209 Clarke Rd, 10:45 am
  • Sidney – at the Sidney cenotaph, 2440 Sidney Ave, 10:40 am
  • Cobble Hill – at the cenotaph, 1475 Fisher Road, 10 am
  • Chemanius – 9799 Willow St, 10:45 am
  • Lake Cowichan – Lake Cowichan Cenotaph, Stanley Road, 11 am
  • Duncan – Remembrance Day City of Duncan

National capital:

In Ottawa the 2024 national remembrance day ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, Ginette Petitpas Taylor.

The national event is televised.
