The work of local non-profits, charities and other community contributors will be recognized this year through the Hometown Heroes program.

Langford-based Keycorp Developments is teaming up with the Victoria Grizzlies Junior Hockey Club to launch the Victoria Grizzlies Hometown Heroes program for 2025.

Presented by Keycorp Developments, this program celebrates local heroes and organizations across the West Shore and Victoria who make a positive impact in the community.

At every Grizzlies home game in 2025, a deserving organization will be recognized and receive a $5,000 donation to support their work.

Grizzlies home games are played at The Q Centre in Colwood.

Recognizing inspiring efforts:

The Hometown Heroes program is about shining a light on the inspiring efforts of groups and individuals while encouraging Grizzlies fans to support their initiatives.

“Together, the Grizzlies and Keycorp Developments aim to give back to the community in meaningful ways and inspire others to do the same,” it was stated in a news release earlier this week.

Non-profits and local charities:

“Our belief has always been that we can’t expect the community to support us if we don’t support the community,” said Grizzlies President David Michaud.

“Our players have been actively involved in the community this season, and this program allows us to expand that commitment even further. We’re excited to share the stories of these outstanding organizations and help contribute to their ongoing impact,” says Michaud.
