UPDATE November 7: At 7:41 am there are 257 customers without power in the South Vancouver Island region (Duncan, Ganges, Saturna Island)
As of 8:41 pm this evening, there were 18 outages on South Vancouver Island which has left 2,486 BC Hydro customers without power (then 4,304 at 9:15 pm).

That includes 799 customers without power in an area described as Highlands, Langford, Saanich, View Royal (North of MILLSTREAM RD, East of TRANS CANADA HWY, West of WOODRIDGE PL), while 780 are experiencing outages in Saanich (East of WILKINSON RD, West of MCKENZIE AVE, South of GRANGE RD, North of Ker Ave / wire down since 4:27 pm), and 120 west of Otter Point Road (west of Sooke).
UPDATE: Starting at 8:55 pm an outage occurred for 2,084 customers in Saanich North of KENNETH ST, South of FRANCK RD, East of MARSETT PL, West of WATERS EDGE RD.

Other areas with outages include Duncan, Ganges, Mayne Island Central Saanich, North Saanich, and Saturna Island.
Weather forecast:
Environment Canada’s forecast for the Greater Victoria area includes showers ending early this evening then mainly cloudy with 40 percent chance of showers.
Wind southeast 50 km/h gusting to 70 except gusting to 90 near Juan de Fuca Strait early this evening. Wind becoming southwest 30 gusting to 50 early this evening. Low 9.
Sunshine in the forecast for Friday and Saturday.
