Today just after 11 am, NDP Premier David Eby arrived at Government House in Victoria to ask the Lieutenant Governor, Wendy Cocchia, to dissolve the Legislative Assembly so that an election can be called.
That would dissolve the 43rd Parliament of BC.
The official announcement from Eby is scheduled with a livestream for 12:15 pm.
Election date:
If the election is called, the election date would be Saturday October 24, 2026.
Concurrent with municipal:
That’s one week after the regularly-scheduled municipal and school trustee election that is currently underway toward an election date of October 17, 2026.
