As of Monday March 2, 2026 the Sarah Beckett Memorial Playground Parking Lot has been closed to allow for construction of a new building for West Shore Parks & Recreation, Art Studio, and Daycare Centre at 3014 Glen Lake Road.
The park has remained open to the public.
On Thursday April 9, the new child care centre will be officially opened by City of Langford Mayor Scott Goodmanson and council and key officials from the local, provincial, and federal levels of government.
The playground was opened in 2019 as part of honouring fallen West Shore RCMP officer Sarah Beckett who was killed in April 2016 while on duty.
