October 3 ~ LANGFORD. Municipal campaign signs are popping up around Langford.

That’s for City of Langford council candidates and school trustee candidates (Belmont Zone of SD62).

Running for Mayor is incumbent and long-time Langford Mayor Stew Young, as well as five of the current councillors are running again (incumbents): Denise Blackwell , Matt Sahlstrom , Lanny Seaton , Lillian Szpak, and Roger Wade. Norma Stewart who has served on Langford’s planning and zoning committee is running for council.

Wendy Hobbs (who has served on the SD62 board) is also running for council. Also running for mayor is local long-time resident Robert Fraser.

Today at the Tour de Rock event outdoors at Belmont Secondary School in Langford, several of the campaigning councillors were there, helping serve food at the barbecue lunch.

Mayor Stew Young chatted with several of the riders, including one who wanted to personally thank the long-time mayor for his support of Tour de Rock and other charities in the region.
