To accommodate the Coldest Night of the Year Walk in Langford on Saturday February 22, there will be temporary traffic disruptions on Langford Parkway, Veterans Memorial Parkway, Goldstream Ave and Leigh Road.
Coldest Night of the Year Annual Walk will cause some traffic interruptions between 1 pm to 8:30 pm.
Each of two walks start and end at Starlight Stadium, behind the stadium at the end of the field located near the pond / fountain, next to the gravel parking lot and Boulder Climbing House.
City of Langford Councillors Mark Morley will deliver remarks at Starlight Stadium around 4:30 pm. Other city councillors will also be in attendance.
The Coldest Night of the Year family-friendly fundraising walk is about supporting local charities that deal with “hurt, hunger, and homelessness” especially in winter. It’s organized by Pacific Centre Family Services Association (PCFSA).
As of 8 pm Friday evening, the $70,000 fundraising goal has seen a 74% response (i.e. $52,101).
By 3:25 pm on Saturday event day, the pledges reached $59,553 which is 8%5 of the $70,000 goal.
