The Langford community turned out in large number for the Open House at Fire Station #1 today Sunday October 5.

Many young families attended to enjoy activities and refreshments — pancakes in the morning and hot dogs at noon.
Sunny dry weather was a bonus.

Information booths about emergency preparedness and a City of Langford public input booth.

The free event ran from 10 to 2 pm.
The open house during Fire Prevention Week in October is an annual opportunity for the public to connect with your local emergency services and learn how they keep our community safe!

The public today could meet personnel from the Langford firefighting team and also BC Health Services (ambulance / paramedics). There was information on FireSmart BC, emergency support services and amateur radio.

The main fire hall is located at 2625 Peatt Road (near Veterans Memorial Parkway). There is some street parking in the area.
There were equipment displays, fire hose spraying, a participatory fire extinguisher demo, and more.

Donations for the Goldstream Food Bank were accepted along with a raffle.
