There were lineups ahead of the 10 am opening for Canada Day festivities at Starlight Stadium in Langford.
The fun lasted through to 3 pm.
Young adults and families with young kids seemed to out in full force. People of all ages seemed to be enjoying the vibe and the food.
The day was sunny and bright. Temperatures always seem to be a few degrees warmer in Langford compared to Victoria… something to be with being landlocked (no oceanside) and heavily built-up with concrete and infrastructure.
Lots of refreshments to buy, places to sit and eat, games on the field, and music playing on a stage. Face painting for the kids. Games and trophies.
The City of Langford info van was there, with Acting Mayor Keith Yacucha and Councillor Mary Wagner there for most of the day, with other representatives and staff during the day — handing out red Langford frisbees and Langford stickers and chatting about local issues.
This was the third year for Canada Day in Langford, the biggest July 1 bash yet. As the population of Langford and the west shore grows, demands for open-air free community events like this is bound to grow.
Lots of parking, though a lot of it still on gravel.
