As of Thursday July 23 the World Health Organization (WHO) reports a global total of 15,012,731 cases of COVID-19 (247,225 new in the last 24 hours) and 619,150 deaths (7,097 new).

For the United States where they are having overall difficulties in containing the spread of COVID-19, WHO reports 3,868,453 cases (62,929 new) and 141,479 deaths (1,042 new).

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) reports 112,672 cases across the country and 8,874 deaths. Alberta presently has a growing number of cases (presently tallied at 9,975).

The BC Centre for Disease Control reports 3,392 cases in BC at July 23 with 30 of those being new since the previous day. To July 23, there have been 190 deaths from COVID-19 in BC.

On Vancouver Island there have been 142 cases of COVID-19, with one of those new on July 23.
