Greater Victoria finds itself with a snowy morning, this Monday January 13.

Temperatures began falling below normal about two days ago. The forecast for this entire week is for temperatures below normal, and snow Monday to Friday to some degree.

In SD62 in the west shore and Sooke, all schools are open, says SD62 Superintendent Scott Stinson. “All schools are open and buses running with some possible delays. Families are encouraged to take caution travelling as there are some slippery sections,” he has told West Shore Voice News.

Schools are open in SD61 (Victoria) and SD63 (Saanich) and Camosun College says its campuses are open.

The snow fell overnight. Road clearing is underway around town.

At 5 am, the BC Government cancelled its Monday morning media event for a photo opportunity with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and BC Premier John Horgan which was scheduled for 9 am. The meeting between the Premier and the Prime Minister will take place by video conference
