Parks master plan online survey open to end of day January 4, 2026.
Over the holiday season, Langford residents have had the opportunity to provide input to the city’s Draft Parks & Trails Master Plan.
It’s one last opportunity to delve into the massive amount of detail that — if and once implemented — will inform a significant investment and range of action in Langford regarding parks, trails and the natural ecosystem of the municipality.
Community review and input can be done online at LetsChatLangford.ca/parks
Reason for the master plan:
With the use of consultants, the city says that the plan was “designed for the community, with the community” to guide future decisions on the acquisition, development, enhancement, programming, and management of the parks and trails system as the city grows toward 100,000 residents.
Various planning, management and decision-support tools will be used by City staff and Council to help ensure that planning, management and decision-making are consistent and aligned with the vision and objectives for the parks and trails system.
Parks and trails development will range from protection, to nature-based outdoor recreation, to outdoor recreation.
Increased interest:
Evidently there is increased interest in a range of parks and trails considerations.
That includes high interest in off-leash dog areas, food-growing, and multi-use trails.
Preparation for the survey:
Residents are encouraged to visit LetsChatLangford.ca/Parks to read the draft and share feedback through a short survey.
But to effectively answer the survey there is a lot of background detail for review.
The Parks and Trails Master Plan Online Survey closes end of day Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Public input will help refine the draft before it is presented to Council early in the new year for adoption.
