Pickleball can now be played indoors in a warehouse in Langford.
The Victoria Pickleball Centre space opened at 136-2950 West Shore Parkway this past weekend. That’s in the Kettle Creek area of Westhills with nearby access to Highway 1.
Pickleball is considered a ‘noisy’ sport for neighbours so the indoor facility offers a noise buffer. In other parts of Greater Victoria there has been debate about where to locate outdoor pickleball courts.
The 15,000 sq ft indoor pickleball facility is now open daily from 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Lessons will be available starting on May 1 for those hoping to join the sport, or improve their skills.
Apparently the facility doors will be opened in summer.
The large format warehouse space lease arrangement was through Harry Jones of the Vancouver-based William Wright Commercial real estate company.
