Looking to the active transportation future along Tillicum.

This week some Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure contractors were conducting geotechnical studies along Highway 1 (Trans Canada Highway) off Tillicum Road in Saanich.

Drilling was seen being done along Highway 1 on August 29.

“The geotech work will support engineering design for possible future active transportation improvements,” said the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure in a statement to Island Social Trends.

Active transportation allows more fluid use of routes by cyclists and pedestrians.
