A report of pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle that failed to stop and remain on scene is being investigated by the West Shore RCMP.
The collision occurred on January 16, 2026 at approximately 5:36 pm at the intersection of Langford Parkway and Phipps Road in Langford; that’s the intersection with WestShore Town Centre on one side and Rona/McDonald’s on the other.
Police viewed dash camera footage and determined that a 40-year-old male pedestrian was walking east bound and crossing Phipps Rd at the intersection when he was hit by a white pick-up truck that was driving north on Phipps Road through the intersection.
The pickup truck ran through a red light and did not stop after hitting the pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying both the truck and the driver of the suspect vehicle.
Description of suspect vehicle:

- 2-door white pickup truck with a black canopy
- Last seen headed north =bound on Phipps Road near Langford Parkway
Driver unaware:
“After reviewing the footage, investigators believe it is highly unlikely that the suspect driver in this situation did not know that they hit a pedestrian. We ask that anyone with information regarding who the driver is to come forward to police,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar.
Witnesses:
Anyone who can identify the truck and/or the driver is asked to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
Dash-cam video is also helpful from anyone travelling near the intersection of Phipps Rd and Langford Parkway on January 16, 2026 at approximately 5:36 p.m.
Anonymous reports can be done online or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
