Greater Victoria Public Library (GVPL) is giving something of a Valentine gift to library card holders.

Today February 14, GVPL said it would waive late fines on all library materials due on the three snow days – February 11, 12 and 13.  Roadways for vehicles and also transit by bus were interrupted or unreliable on those days.

“We know our patrons make their best effort to return their library items on time,” said Maureen Sawa, GVPL CEO. “Given the inclement weather, we are waiving all library fines for materials that were due February 11, 12 and 13.”

Accounts of patrons who already paid their fines for items due on February 11, 12 and 13 will receive a credit, says GVPL.

In the west shore, there are three libraries under the GVPL umbrella: the Juan de Fuca Branch in Colwood, the Goudy Branch in downtown Langford, and the Heritage Branch in Westhills.
