Westshore Town Centre in Langford is pleased to announce that FreshCo will be opening a new location within the shopping centre in early 2026.
With more than 150 locations across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario, this marks FreshCo’s first location on Vancouver Island—bringing affordable, fresh food options to the growing Westshore community.
The FreshCo slogan is “fresh and proudly Canadian”. The store will offer Scene card points and gift cards.
“As we continue expanding our retail network, we’re pleased to announce that FreshCo will open its first Vancouver Island location at Westshore Town Centre in early 2026,” said Tony McGrath, Vice President Operations, Discount.
Construction is underway:
The new FreshCo will occupy approximately 38,000 sq. ft. of anchor space at Westshore Town Centre. Construction is already underway.
Variety and convenience:
The product lines are new and fresh produce from around the world. There is also a pharmacy service.

Details about grand opening plans will be shared closer to the store’s completion.
Changeover in the large anchor space:
The previous tenant in that space was also a food retailer — Fairway Market had been an anchor tenant in the mall for decades (opening in 1987 and closing November 2024).
