The 14th trail at the Langford Gravity Zone and Nature Trails Park is called ‘Flipside’.
It was officially opened on February 28 at 4100 West Shore Parkway.
The Flipside trail spans 750 meters. Built by Allman Dirtworks, it is an intermediate “blue flow” trail suitable for mid-level riders.
Jumps, berms, and flow trail:
The Flipside trail promises an exhilarating experience with its jumps, berms, and flow trail sections. It is accessible from the ‘Wonderland’ access trail and connects to the southern parking lot located at 4200 West Shore Parkway, along the ‘Steam Donkey’ access trail.
“This new trail is an exciting addition to our growing community and supports our efforts of positioning Langford as a destination for biking and outdoor recreation in British Columbia,” said Langford Mayor Scott Goodmanson.
Parks and Trails Master Plan:
In the coming weeks, the City will be seeking community input for the Parks and Trails Master Plan. This feedback will guide future planning decisions to enhance our parks and outdoor spaces.
About Gravity Zone:
The Langford Gravity Zone and Nature Trails Park features a variety of biking and hiking trails with varying levels of difficulty, offering breathtaking viewpoints and winding paths beneath massive tree canopies.
Each trail within the Park has been named by the trail builders to reflect unique characteristics, descriptors, or natural features of the trail.
While exploring the new trail, visitors can also check out the Jordie Lunn Bike Park Clubhouse which opened last spring. This facility includes the second Langford location of Rhino Coffee House and offers bike rentals, sales, and repair services through Broad Street Cycles. The upper level of the Clubhouse includes office space for Cycling BC, Cycling Canada, and Nolan Riding, making it an exciting and collaborative hub for the biking community.
The Gravity Zone and Nature Trails Park and Jordie Lunn Bike Park are popular spots in Langford, attracting residents and visitors alike with a combination of dirt jumps, pump track, skills area, and hiking and mountain bike trails all in one central destination.
