The World Junior’s Hockey Finals game for Bronze was played in Vancouver this evening, Saturday January 5. The 5 pm PT game saw Finland win gold over USA, 3-2.
First period play was quiet and somehow flatline. Then the energy of the game picked up. A third goal by Finland with just 1 minute 26 seconds to go in the game clinched their win.
This is Finland’s first Gold win outside of Europe, which is now their third title in the World Juniors in six years. The USA has won three titles since 2010.
