EVENT POSTING | Submitted by the City of Langford
The City of Langford is excited to announce a free, month-long FIFA World Cup 2026 viewing celebration in downtown Langford, running from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
With support from the Province of B.C.’s 2026 Community Event Support Fund, The Langford Station will transform into a family-friendly global festival where residents and visitors can share the excitement of the World Cup close to home.
The outdoor event will feature live games on a giant outdoor screen, live music, food trucks, a beer garden, and a kids zone.
Month-long celebration:
The month-long celebration, centred along Station Avenue in Langford’s Arts & Culture District, will offer something for everyone. All matches will be broadcast live on a large outdoor screen, so fans can cheer on their teams in a safe and vibrant atmosphere.
Between games, the festival will come alive with performances by local bands, dancers, and cultural groups, showcasing Langford’s diversity and community spirit. Attendees can explore local retailers and artists, food trucks, and relax in a licensed beer and cocktail garden.
A dedicated Kids’ Zone will keep youngsters entertained with soccer-themed games and interactive activities. The entire festival is free and open to all ages, reflecting Langford’s commitment to inclusivity and community pride.
“Hosting a free community event throughout the World Cup is an opportunity for people to connect and share in the excitement of a global event,” said Scott Goodmanson, Mayor of Langford.
“We are proud to offer an inclusive space where folks can celebrate and enjoy world-class soccer. We are grateful to the Province for the support, which helps make this event possible and reinforces the value of investing in experiences that bring people together, no matter what team they are cheering for.”
June 11 launch:
The festival will kick off on June 11, the World Cup opening day, with a live viewing of the first match.
A portion of Station Avenue will be pedestrian-only for the duration of the tournament, creating a walkable fan zone in the heart of the city.
Event schedule to come:
In the coming weeks, the City will release a comprehensive event schedule, featuring themed days, entertainment rosters, and opportunities for volunteers to get involved in this unique, once-in-a-generation celebration.
