In summer it’s not dark during the 5 to 8 pm time frame of the weekly outdoor Sooke Night Market.
The weekly enterprise is held on the grounds of the Sooke Region Museum on Thursday summer evenings (June through early September). Operating out in the fresh air, the weather will have an impact.
Local produce is a key part of the Sooke Night Market.
Nutrition coupons:
BC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupons are accepted at booths selling local produce.
The farmers’ market coupons are accepted a point of sale by BC Farmers Market member vendors.
The coupons are available to lower-income families, pregnant people and seniors.
Households enrolled in the program may receive $27/week in coupons for up to 16 weeks. The amount and frequency and duration can vary according to each partner’s program guidelines and the length of the Farmer’s Market season in the community.
Coupons can be used at any participating BC Farmers’ Market from June 8 through December 22. Not all BC Farmers Markets operate during that entire period.
The coupon program is supported by the Province of British Columbia.
Food vendors at Sooke Night Market:
The Sooke Night Market offers a low-cost, low-barrier opportunity for local farmers to engage directly with customers.
Food vendors participating in the Hatch + Hype marketing program get a dedicated space for new vendors to realize their new food business ideas. It’s a program for farmers and food producers who want to try new products.
