The Poker Run of the Northwest Deuce Days comes through Langford on Saturday July 20, with a pit stop in central Langford on Goldstream Avenue between 10 am and 12 noon, is a tourism highlight this weekend in the west shore.
The procession of classic cars will leave Clover Point in downtown Victoria around 9:30 am. Their route in the west shore will go along Atkins Road to Veterans Memorial Parkway, to Sooke Road along to the West Shore Parkway, then along Langford Parkway past the Westhills Stadium, finally turning onto Jacklin Road to get to their Langford pit stop on Goldstream Avenue by the fountain. “Bring your lawn chair and show your support for the biggest car show event in North America!,” said the City of Langford this week. Proud owners of these cars have come from around the world. About 500 cars (of the 1,385 cars in the full show set for the Victoria Inner Harbour on Sunday July 21) will cruise through Langford on July 20, stopping on Goldstream Avenue at the fountain.
West shore residents are invited hang out on Goldstream Avenue between Peatt Road and the eastern access of Langford Centre to see the classic cars that primarily feature the 1932 Deuce Coupe and cars of that vintage.
Goldstream Avenue will be closed between Peatt Road and the eastern access of the Langford Centre retail mall between 10 am and 12:30 pm. Traffic control will be on-site directing traffic. Delays may be expected, says Langford Engineering.
After celebrating in Langford, the procession of these high-end classic cars will take Goldstream to Wale Road and Island Highway to make their way back downtown.
On Sunday July 21 in downtown Victoria around the Inner Harbour, about 1,385 classic cars will be on display for the public to view.
Road closures on Sunday for the parked cars on display is as follows (info provided by Destination Greater Victoria): Wharf St. from Fort St. to Humbolt St., Government Street from Fort Street to Superior Street, Belleville St. from Pendray St. to Douglas St., Menzies St. from Belleville St. to Superior St.
