Earlier this week, a badly damaged vehicle travelling on Veterans Memorial Parkway caught the attention of a frontline West Shore RCMP officer on patrol at around 3:15 pm on Monday November 23.

The 2010 Jeep Grant Cherokee had apparently been t-boned a few days prior (but not reported to police) and the driver of the vehicle advised police that the passenger side doors were subsequently taped up to what appeared to be a a vehicle frame that was “likely bent”, it was explained in a news release today from the West Shore RCMP.

The 22-year-old driver is a Langford resident. She was issued a violation ticket for not having a license and an inspection was ordered on the vehicle which was towed and taken off the roadway due to safety concerns.

“Traffic enforcement and keeping our roads safe are key priorities for the West Shore RCMP,” said Cst Nancy Saggar, Media Relations Officer, West Shore RCMP in today’s release.

“If you see an unsafe vehicle on the roadway, report it right away,” she says.

“This vehicle posed a risk for not only the passenger in it but also to other motorists on the road,” explained Cst Saggar.

“If you were the other vehicle involved in this collision please report it to police,” says Cst Saggar. The main detachment phone number is 250-474-2264.
