The BC Government’s COVID-19 page about provincial and federal benefits was updated on July 3.
At the top of the page is the link for the $1,000 BC Emergency Benefit for Workers. That’s a one-time benefit that perhaps still may not have been applied for by all who are eligible.

BC Climate Action Tax Credit:
The Province is increasing and expanding the B.C. Climate Action Tax Credit in July 2020.
The one-time enhanced payment is:
- Up to $218 per adult or first child in a single parent family
- Up to $64 per additional child
In July 2020, eligible families of four will automatically receive a combined B.C. Climate Action Tax payment up to $564, and eligible individuals will receive a combined B.C. Climate Action Tax payment up to $218.
The enhanced B.C. Climate Action Tax Credit will be paid in July 2020 combined with the federal GST/HST credit payment.
Approximately 80% of British Columbians will see additional support from this enhancement. People will get the payment automatically if they are eligible when filing their 2019 tax return. British Columbians will receive the Climate Action Tax Credit along with their federal GST/HST returns.
Moratorium on rent increases continues in BC:
As announced June 19, 2020 the Province is maintaining the moratorium on rent increases and evictions for non-payment of rent.
