The Challenge Trophy Final match this Sunday afternoon May 12 at Westhills Stadium during the HSBC World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series tournament saw the team from Fiji emerge victorious.

On-field to congratulate the team were Rugby Canada Chair Tim Powers, City of Langford Mayor Stew Young, and HSBC Local Branch Manager (Langford and Uptown) Linda Dalziel who presented the challenge trophy. That was after the 30th game of the tournament.

Game 34 of the tournament for the Cup Final was won by New Zealand over Australia. For medals: New Zealand achieved Gold after the final match with Australia. That saw Australia taking home Silver, with USA taking Bronze.

Canada lost to USA in the Cup quarterfinals 7-12, but overall this weekend won five of the six games: Canada 38-7 Brazil, Canada 22-5 Ireland, Canada 29-14 Australia, and Canada 31-7 England; and Canada 31-Spain in the 5th Place semifinals.
